Amazon Cloud Player Arrives for the iPhone & iPod Touch
After switching from a Galaxy S Android to my wife’s old iPhone 3GS for nearly a month as an experiment, the one thing I really missed was Amazon’s Cloud Player. I made due with gMusic, a third-party Google Music player that integrates with my Google music library. The problem was, gMusic’s sound quality was often terrible and I already had some playlists made up in Cloud Player for my bike rides. After being nearly ready to switch back to the Galaxy S, I saw the announcement on Amazon MP3′s Facebook page that their cloud player app was finally available for the iPhone.
It appears the same functionality exists, except for the ability to make in-app music purchases from the Amazon MP3 store. Bummer. I think I’ll still give this a thumbs up. I’m currently testing my patience with the iPhone and this definitely makes up for some of the lack of functionality compared to Android (being that Android is WAY better integrated with Google services already, of course).
Head on over to iTunes and grab Amazon Cloud Player for your iPhone, and iPod touch.
